Currently, Goal 8 (Recreation) in the Comprehensive Plan states that Wasco County Planning will “Discourage illegal recreational access through private agricultural lands.”
As staff explores revisions to the recreation land use planning goal, we wanted to get a sense from the public if illegal access was still an issue for property owners.
Several hunting apps now have maps and GPS tracking that can tell hunters or other recreators whether or not they are on public or private lands. Some of the apps include: HuntWise, OnX Hunt, and Gaia.
These can be downloaded and used when you and friends are recreating to make sure you are on public lands…and not your neighbor’s property.
