In preparing for the next 20 years of land use in Wasco County, understanding economic trends and employment forecasts can help appropriate needed land uses like residential and commercial.
Over the last year, Wasco County Planning Department staff has worked with the Community Planning Assistance for Wildfires (CPAW) team to evaluate Wasco County’s wildfire risks and determine possible land use planning strategies that can be used to reduce risk.

In December and January, Planning Department staff will be presenting proposed amendments to Chapters 2, 3, 6 and 9 to the Board of County Commissioners for approval.
