The Wasco County Planning Department and Citizen Advisory Group is thrilled to announce our upcoming roadshow event series will happen at the end of March.

Four dates, four locations, and two hot topics.

For 2019, we will be focusing on housing and flexible parcel sizes, two of our most popular topics for Wasco County 2040.

Here are the dates, times and locations:

Wednesday, March 20th
6-8pm
Columbia Gorge Community College Bldg 2 Lecture Hall

Thursday, March 21st
6-8pm
Tygh Valley Community Center

Tuesday, March 26th
6-8pm
Mosier Grange Hall

Thursday, March 28th
6-8pm
Wamic Community Center

Each two hour event will include a brief presentation, small group discussion and exercises, and wrap up with a large group discussion.  The focus of these sessions is to understand how community members would like to address housing, particularly alternative housing issues like short term vacation rentals and accessory dwelling units.

There has also been significant interest in allowing for more flexible minimum parcel sizes.  While, in most cases, our zones already are at the state required minimum parcel sizes staff has developed several solutions that may help offer some additional flexibility and address key challenges identified by the flexible parcel size conversation.

As we get closer to the events, more information will be available to learn more.  In the meantime, take our short survey which previews some of the issues.  We have already had a record number of responses, so be sure to make your voice heard, too.

You can also sign up for notification emails about major news and events, send us comments about any topics, or find other ways to participate.

We are so excited to be travelling to a location closer to you soon, and look forward to having productive conversations about Wasco County 2040.
